PressWise is an application that imposes PostScript as well as other type pages in the proper place/orientation together on film so that when printed, folded and trimmed, the pages appear in the proper sequential order. This imposition software will allow us to expedite your project by reducing the amount of stripping time necessary, therefore speeding up delivery of your bluelines. By following the steps below, we will both reap the benefits of using Luminous PressWise.

Sending source files gives us the ability to prepare your files for use with PressWise, however if it is necessary for you to send PostScript files, please follow the steps below.

There are different requirements depending on the application being used, however the basic steps needing to be followed are as follows:

1. The Adobe 4.1 printer driver (instead of the standard Microsoft driver) must first be used in Windows 95 when creating printers to be used with PressWise (instructions are below).

2. The Linotronic 330 Printer Description file should be set as the PPD to be used with this new printer.

3. In the Print dialog box: Print separations (even if you are only using one ink such as black) and set your plate assignment information. Confirm that the Page range and Scale percentage are correct. Deselect both Registration Marks and Page Information. In the printer area, select Setup and then choose the custom paper size that you created in the printer. Select Print only to file Click Print to create the PostScript file.
